Do You Have Neck Pain? This Is Why - Get a Treatment Plan
As a chiropractor, I see patients with neck pain every day. It is one of the most common problems we treat and also one of the most misunderstood. Many people think that neck pain is something you just have to ”live with,” but the truth is that there is often a clear cause that can be treated. At our clinic, we look at the big picture and work with proven techniques to help you become pain-free and regain your mobility.
A common source of neck pain is the facet joints, the small joints at the back of each neck vertebra. When these joints become stiff or inflamed, it can cause localized pain, limited mobility, and sometimes even headaches. Through adjustments, we can restore mobility in these joints, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the nervous system’s natural pain-relieving mechanisms. Many patients experience rapid relief after treatment.
Neck pain can also come from dysfunction in the spine and discs, especially if there is a herniated disc or a bulge that is pressing on the nerve root. This can lead to pain that radiates down the shoulder, arm or even into the fingers. This is called cervical radiculopathy. With specific, gentle joint mobilization and release techniques, we work to reduce pressure on the nerve structures and help the body restore balance. In many cases, we combine this with posture analysis scan and customized training.
In some cases, the pain comes from the nervous system itself, for example when there is irritation in peripheral nerves, or when central sensitization causes the nervous system to become overactive and amplify pain signals. Here we work to ”calm down” the nervous system through gentle manual techniques, breathing exercises and posture correction, which helps the body move from a stressed state to a more balanced state.
Another very common cause is poor posture, especially in connection with prolonged sedentary work in front of screens. A forward head position, weak shoulder blade muscles and tense neck muscles create overload in both muscles and joints. At the clinic, we treat this through a combination of chiropractic, naprapathy, muscle therapy and postural training. The goal is not only to reduce the pain but to correct the root cause so that the problem does not recur.
Finally, we should not forget other possible causes such as stress, lack of sleep, jaw tension or even previous injuries that the body compensates for. Neck pain is rarely just an isolated problem, it is often a consequence of several factors. That is why it is so important to seek professional help. At our clinic, we offer a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan that is tailored to you. You do not have to wait until the pain becomes chronic. The sooner you seek help, the faster we can help you return to a life without limitations.
